Made popular during the UK and Europe based rockabilly revival of the 1980’s, neo rockabilly has a harder edge, a prominent slap bass and combines elements of Psychobilly and Punk to create a new sound.
The Triplejacks bring in top musicians from across the globe to compliment Chris on the slap (double) bass. Chris, who is based in Hong Kong, has a wealth of rockabilly knowledge gained from 45 years listening to the music and being a DJ and promoter as well as more recently a slap bass player.
The key figure in the band alongside Chris is Philip Doyle from Ireland on lead guitar and vocals. Phil is a superb guitarist and singer who has played with some of the greatest names in Psychobilly including Demented Scum Cats, The Zorchmen and the Guitar Slingers. Phil’s rockabilly credentials are also suitably impressive as he regularly still plays with the Polecats and has played with the Deltas too amongst many others.
On drums recently was Phil Emond, also from Hong Kong, and well known around the local scene.
February 2022 – We will be available again for gigs around the region and the world after the COVID-19 outbreak has subsided…although it is receeding in some areas here in Hong Kong quarantine rules are still in force stay in and stay safe everyone, from all of us here!
